  • Overlapping mental and physical health concernsMood, sleep, weight, hormonal changes, energy or other medical concerns complicate the picture.

  • A treatment you do not provideThe patient may benefit from IV ketamine or another specialized Fountain service.

Who we partner with

Built for clinicians caring for patients with complex medical needs.

How Fountain fits depends on your specialty and the role you already have in the patient's care.

Therapists & Psychologists

Your therapeutic relationship remains central. When persistent symptoms raise questions about medication, sleep, hormonal health, metabolism or other medical contributors, Fountain can evaluate and treat those concerns and share relevant findings with you.

We also work with pain and physical-medicine specialists, fertility and reproductive-endocrinology practices, concierge physicians and longevity practices.

Questions about partnering with Fountain

My patient is engaged in therapy but still feels stuck. When should I consider a medical or psychiatric evaluation?

When a patient is participating in therapy but symptoms remain persistent, recur, or do not fully make sense within the psychological picture alone, another clinical perspective may be useful. Fountain can evaluate psychiatric treatment needs as well as relevant medical factors such as sleep, hormonal health, metabolism, medications, nutrition, and other contributors. The goal is not to replace therapy, but to determine whether another part of the clinical picture may need attention.

Can medical or hormonal issues contribute to depression, anxiety, fatigue, brain fog, or poor sleep?

They can sometimes contribute to or complicate these symptoms, although they are rarely the only factor. Depending on the patient, Fountain may consider sleep, thyroid and hormonal health, metabolic factors, nutritional status, medications, and other relevant medical issues alongside the psychiatric and psychological picture. Testing is selected based on the clinical question rather than performed indiscriminately.

What can I refer a patient to Fountain for?

A referral can be broad or focused on a specific clinical question. Fountain can provide psychiatric evaluation and medication management, IV ketamine, hormonal and endocrine evaluation, weight and metabolic medicine, targeted diagnostics, and other clinician-directed treatment when appropriate.

How do I refer a patient to Fountain?

You can refer a patient directly through the link below or email our Medical Coordinator at admin@fountainnyc.com. Tell us what is prompting the referral and any specific questions you would like our team to evaluate. We will help determine the most appropriate Fountain clinician or next step, coordinate directly with the patient, and keep you informed when appropriate and with the patient’s authorization.

Will Fountain take over my patient's care, or can we work together?

Fountain is built around co-care. The referring clinician can remain central to the patient's existing treatment while Fountain addresses the medical, psychiatric, or specialty question that prompted the referral. We coordinate around shared patients, communicate relevant findings, and clarify which parts of care Fountain will manage and which remain with the existing team.

What information and updates will I receive after I refer a patient?

With the patient's authorization, Fountain closes the loop. After evaluation, we can provide a concise summary of relevant findings, interpretation, treatment decisions, and recommendations. During treatment, we communicate meaningful changes in clinical status, response, or treatment when they matter to the care you continue to provide.

What does partnering with Fountain give my practice access to?

A Fountain referral relationship gives clinicians a single place to access a broader multidisciplinary team when a patient's needs extend beyond their own scope. Depending on the case, that can include psychiatry, addiction medicine, hormonal and metabolic care, IV ketamine, nutrition and fitness support, cognitive evaluation, and other specialized services. Just as importantly, clinicians have a team they can return to when another patient presents with a complex or overlapping clinical picture.

What if I’m not sure whether my patient is a good fit for Fountain?

You do not need to know exactly which Fountain service or clinician is appropriate before reaching out. If a patient’s progress has stalled, the clinical picture feels more complex, or you are wondering whether psychiatric, medical, hormonal, metabolic, sleep, cognitive, or other factors may be contributing, contact our team. We can review the situation at a high level, help determine whether a Fountain evaluation makes sense, and identify the most appropriate next step.
